This blog is originated from the idea that more people than myself want to have a go-to-place for long term reviews of products. In other word, a place to find great products that passed the test of time. The Swedish way of saying that something is passing the test of time is to say that it ”withstand the teeth of time”, which I think is a great way to describe what it does – if it pass it will be in a used state and worn but it will not break beyond repair or become unused.
I do take a lot of pride in doing a thorough research before buying a product. The price is of course important but my philosophy is to pay once (it might sting) and live ever happily after. Thus, I hate to throw away stuff because that mean I didn’t do a good job when I decided to buy the thing. With that being said I also repair things in order to keep them alive as long as possible. This could mean repairing toys, clean the coffee maker, vacuum clean the air conditioner, or find an effective way to update my hunting map from year to year (more examples further down).
As far as parenting goes I’m the type of person who will try to include my kids as much as possible in this practice. I will also let them be a part of the repair and refurbish process as I believe that this will open their eyes and make them aware that you need to take care of things for them to last but if they do break it’s possible to fix them.
You will notice that I have not included any dates on my blog posts; this is because I believe that would defeat my purpose of the blog – to look past the buzz of today and find the true gems of the stuff out there. As a result of this all my posts might sound biased but that’s only because I will only write about stuff I really like after I’ve been using them for quite a while.
Thank you for your time and I hope you’ll find this blog interesting!
